When Bigger Is Better
Sports viewing
A 75-inch TV makes sports feel immersive. At this size, a $950 TCL Q7C is hard to beat.
Group watching
More viewers means wider seating. Bigger screens are easier to see from the sides.
Immersive gaming
A 65-inch or larger TV fills your peripheral vision from a couch distance of 7-8 feet.
Home cinema
For a cinema feel, go as large as your room allows. A 77-inch OLED or 85-inch QLED transforms the experience.
Size Guide FAQ
Is a 55-inch TV big enough?
For a viewing distance of 6-7 feet (typical bedroom or small living room), 55 inches is ideal. For 8+ feet, consider 65 inches.
Is a 75-inch TV too big?
At 9+ feet, a 75-inch TV is ideal. Closer than 7 feet, it may feel overwhelming. Measure your distance first.
Should I choose a bigger QLED or smaller OLED?
If picture quality in a dark room is your priority, a smaller OLED will look better. If screen size and brightness matter more, go bigger with QLED.
What about wall mounting?
OLED TVs are ultra-thin and look stunning wall-mounted. The LG G5 is designed specifically for flush wall mounting. QLED TVs are thicker but still wall-mountable.
